the Bride's Maid
Because bridesmaids are people too.
Dear brides, please treat them kindly. Let them wear dresses they could wear again, or at the very least won't be ashamed to be seen in.
One great option: the convertible dress.

Royal Wedding - am I typing this?
Thursday, April 28
"Don't care, over it" - Atleast thats what I told myself.
I can't count how many times I've rolled my eyes or changed the channel when I heard William and Kate Middleton mentioned. For the record, I love the Brits, loved the year I spent in London after college- grew up with a mum who just ADORED Lady Di; but honestly, it was all getting to be a bit too much.

Royal Wedding commemorative pocket mirror by $5 |
So why am I now contemplating waking up at 4AM to watch the show? I don't know - it is kind of a big deal ain't it? I think I'm going to stop being a spoilsport and just join in with all the happy people. Can't hurt. And it is wedding season after all and I've been looking for a reason to update you guys on some cool Etsy wedding finds. Yup, I think I'll do that. Actually all of tomorrow's posts will be wedding related. Just decided that, since most of the world's got wedding's on the brain.

Eat right for your Blood Type
Wednesday, April 27
I don't know if I missed the boat on this one, but I just heard about the Eat right for your Blood Type diet.
If you are blood type O [like myself] (O for old, as in humanity's oldest blood line) your digestive tract retains the memory of ancient times, says D'Adamo (diet creator), so your metabolism will benefit from lean meats, poultry, and fish. You're advised to restrict grains, breads, and legumes, and to enjoy vigorous exercise.
Don't know about restricting breads- thats next to impossible for me.

In addition to exercising and eating foods that are Right For Your Type, here are a few key lifestyle strategies for Type O individuals:
![]() |
- Develop clear plans for goals and tasks – annual, monthly, weekly, daily to avoid impulsivity.
- Make lifestyle changes gradually, rather than trying to tackle everything at once.
- Eat all meals, even snacks, seated at a table.
- Chew slowly and put your fork down between bites of food.
- Avoid making big decisions or spending money when stressed.
- Do something physical when you feel anxious.
- Engage in thirty to forty five minutes of aerobic exercise at least four times per week.
- When you crave a pleasure releasing-substance (alcohol, tobacco, sugar), do something physical.

So the Blood Type Diet
REAL or just another FAD?
What do you think? Anyone tried it?

Poster by $14.50 |
You see, growing up in Cameroon, we did not exactly have cable, and by that I mean we had some sort of satellite set-up which allowed us to watch all of maybe 6 channels max. Now coming from a single national channel which only began its broadcasting at 6PM ( Noon sometimes during summer vacation-the joy), 6 channels was definitely a mega bonus.
However, programming was limited, most of the channels covered news, many of the movies were in French or even worse actually French (French cinema has alot going for it, but please don't ask the average 12year old to enjoy or understand it).
As such, we would wear out our VHS tapes watching them over and over again, for lack of something better to watch. I have probably seen Coming to America and Tootsie more times than anyone should ever have to. And because my mum was a major Clint Eastwood fan, and all the visiting uncles loved Clint, I ended up watching the Good, the Bad and the Ugly probably 90 times (slight exaggeration). I hated it so much at first but around the 28th time, it really grew on me.
There are entire portions of that movie I can recite word for word. I used to be so much better at it, but hey its been a while.
Point I'm trying to make is, no other part of that movie resulted in bigger laughs than when Eli Wallach who plays Tuco (the Ugly) delivers the epic line:
"when you have to shoot, shoot- don't talk"
If you haven't seen movie, please do OR checkout hilarious scene below:
NOTE: I do not support or promote violence in real life, but it works pretty well in Westerns.
oh how I digress...

I'd previously featured some of her jewelry here and I'm excited we're able to have a giveaway with her. I also thought it best to have Candice introduce herself to you guys.
From :the seller behind the giveaway
My name is Candice and I live in Los Angeles. I grew up in a household that was always bursting at the seems with creativity and I’ve always been surrounded by unique and talented individuals who encouraged me to do my own thing.
I have been creating jewelry for a few years now. I initially picked it up from my mom who has been creating jewelry for about fifteen years and who I now design a lot of pieces with…we are always in collaboration and I enjoy that very much.
In the beginning of 2010, part of my New Year’s resolution was to open up an online boutique to offer some of my wares; however it wasn’t until December of 2010 that I signed up on Etsy and listed my first item on New Year’s Eve 2011.

If I had to describe my work…I would have to say that it is a manifestation of a gift, blessing, and an honor coupled with a little faith (which I am always working to increase.) With that said, I strive to create jewelry that is meant to adorn the soul and to encourage self-love and acceptance. I believe that we should all have reverence for our individuality and uniqueness and the core things that make us who we are, be it cultural or spiritual….we are all innately special and we need to celebrate that as well as respect the right for others to be who they are.
Right now 95% of my pieces are totally handcrafted and I work primarily with brass sheet metal. I like drawing my own designs with little or no computer aid (because I feel like it allows me to actually put my handprint on my work so to speak). Next pieces are hand cut, forged and usually hand textured for dimension. Most pieces are then embellished. I try to use very little commercially made components when creating my jewelry.
The result is jewelry that is one of a kind (which symbolizes individuality,) that is boho tribal chic and is naturally glamorous.
Definitely is and below is how you can win the top pair.
