HAPPY MONDAY: She's back

Monday, April 29

Yup, my camera's back with me (oh, the hubby too) and just in time for some of the best weather we've had in a long time.   I don't know the last time I logged so many hours outside, but with the weather forecast calling for cooler weather (again) and rain this week, there was no way I was spending any time inside.

I don't usually go into the deets about my outfits but I absolutely love the deal I got on these pink H&M pants. I had been eyeing them for a while. Tried them on when they were full price of $59.95 and this was just a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if no one liked them cos they went on sale pretty quick. When I saw their price had dropped to $25, I couldn't be more delighted. Another happy purchase was my blue J.Crew bag. As we all know, J.Crew factory (and outlets) sells items a little different from the actual stores. I wanted the real blue Edie bag which retails for $238 for a minute. Lucky me, I spotted the outlet version for $158 which was on sale for $100, with an additional 50% off and woohoo, bag was mine for $50.

I love how when you tell a woman you like something she's wearing, in addition to saying thanks, she quickly rattles off the store and price if she got a deal. So funny. Anyhoo, anyone got a great deal they want to share?

Heads up, get your bike gear ready for the TD Five Boro Bike Tour.

Pants: H&M $59.95 $25
T-shirt: H&M (mens) $14
Sandals: H&M (from a few years back)
Necklace: Zara  $25
Bike: Purefix

NOW LISTENING: QUADRON

Friday, April 26

Thank you Shazam for helping me figure out the track that played during a 4 week old episode of Grey's Anatomy (we know Shonda knows her music). It was "Hey Love" by Quadron, my new non-stop, on repeat, listen till you can't no mo' song. This singer-producer duo hail from Denmark (wanna go, have to go someday). They call their music electronic soul, I call it delicious.

MY CAMERA IS ON VACATION

Tuesday, April 23

My camera decided she had enough of me and just up and left. She's enjoying a 7 day trip in Istanbul, Turkey and she will not be bothered by the likes of me.

All kidding aside, my camera (our camera) and all my our lenses are thousands of miles away with the hubby in Istanbul. If you missed your weekly dose of Happy Monday- well then, you know who to blame. I asked for a few pics just so I could die of jealousy and quietly plan my revenge.

I wanted to go so bad on this trip, but that just didn't work out. So while I continue to stew about it, you can check out a few of the pics that were sent my way.

Looks like Springtime in Istanbul

One of my fave things to do when visiting new city, checking out the markets

The view from his hotel roof. So Jelly.

NOW LISTENING: Chlöe Howl

Friday, April 19

Goodness me, I'm loving Chlöe Howl. I don't think she's going to be under the radar for much longer. She reminds me of some of my other faves Kate Nash and Lily Allen. Boy, do I have a type. Can't decide which I'm more in love with: her voice or her freckles. They are both so deelish-ly beautiful.

Check her out. I suggest you listen to all 3.

And my absolute fave is this one:

WIN $50: DO YA CHIPPMUNK?

Tuesday, April 16

I love saving as much as the next person, actually maybe more. I don't know the last time I bought anything online or even in store without quickly googling (insert store name here + coupon code/promo code). It works most times and just like that you get a pretty sweet deal. So when I was approached by the team behind Chippmunk to do this giveaway, I didn't have to think too hard.

If you’ve ever tried to find a coupon code on some other sites, you know how annoying it can be clicking on links for promo codes that never work. Chippmunk promises that you will always find a code that actually works, plus you’ll be doing it on a site that’s completely modernized, easy to use and clutter-free. It's Super simple to use. Just choose your Budget, Select a Department (Clothing, Shoes, Jewelry etc), and Click Search for available sales. - Click on the sales that you like and shop. - That's it.

So, check out Chippmunk for yourself and you can decide if it's going to help you save some $$$ while you shop. Also, don't forget to enter below for your chance to win a $50 Amazon Gift Card for doing just that.  Good Luck Guys!

A FEW THINGS WORTH SHARING

Monday, April 15

ONE: You've gotta visit Back to Curly, my new fav blog and not just because she so generously featured me, but cos she's a lovely writer and a total sweetheart.

TWO: I almost forgot to thank Chioma of CS Evolution of Style, another sweetheart you have to check out. She was one of the brains behind the amazing April Showers giveaway.

And THREE: This has to be the first time I've ever been sketched (atleast that I know of). I was beyond flattered, (super cheesy smiley) to see this on Instagram courtesy of midnightsnax. She's got some other cool sketches on her feed.

Thats it for now, but its definitely not all. Laters.

HAPPY MONDAY: RECYCLED

It's been one of those weekends. Sorry no real new outfit posts. But I'll share how I recycled an outfit I quite literally wore just a couple of weeks ago.  I just switched out my hair and accessories, threw on a blazer and ta-da, I'm a tad bit more formal.

HAPPY MONDAY FOLKS!!!!
Bag: Zara   $39
Sandals: Nine West
Necklace: H&M

NOW LISTENING: AKWAFINA

Friday, April 12

NYMag poses the Question.  Image via NY Mag.
Super busy work week guys. Friday couldn't come any sooner. Wasn't certain I'd have anything to share and then I checked out my girl AprèsNewYork's blog. I guess you can say nothing better than the unexpected. It's crazy how easy it is to just shove people into the different boxes we think they're supposed to be in. Even though I'm not a big hip-hop head, I can tell this girl can spit. She's got really smart, funny rhymes and I enjoy her delivery. Of course, she's a novelty, it's just not everyday we see a female Asian-American MC (I'm sure there's many, we just don't see/hear them often).  Oh and heads up- she's got a potty mouth.

Whaddya think?
Side note: can't hear her name Akwafina without thinking of a neighborhood in Cameroon called Akwa.
Oh the Memories.

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND GUYS.

SHE'S HAVING A SALE

Tuesday, April 9

One of my fav Etsy shops, is having a Spring Sale. Use Promo Code SPRING2013 for 25% OFF.

HAPPY MONDAY: PEACE

Monday, April 8

"Did you cut out holes in your shirt?"  the hubby asked.  I had to laugh but it was really the most sensible question ever. Why would anyone buy a  shirt with holes in it? I don't know. I don't have an answer.

Help me, I can't see.

I'm not saying this is going to become a thing (Goodness me, I'm so non-committal), but we were just fooling around and then there was this video, so I'm sharing:

Booties: Old Navy seen before here
Jeans: Uniqlo  $19
Bag: Vintage coach from Etsy
Tank: Know Style $9.99
Polka dot Blazer:  $59  $29
Earrings: Aldo
Happy Monday!!
